Snake Eyes: When the Secretary of Defense is assassinated while a big heavy fight at an Atlantic City casino is going on, pandemonium breaks out. Local cop Rick Santoro finds himself right in the middle of the mess. The doors are locked and everyone is kept inside the building as they try to quickly solve the crime.
Gypsy Colt: Delicate film of loyal horse who returns to mistress after parents vend it to speeding steady. Redo of LASSIE Go home. Cast includes Donna Corcoran, Ward Bond, Frances Dee, and Larry Keating. (72 minutes, 1954)
Sgt. Bilko: An army comedy with Steve Martin, Dan Akroyd and Phil Hartman. Sgt Bilko does basically everything but army duties with his platoon of soldiers. Life in Sgt. Bilko’s army is quite nice. That is until Major Thorn shows up and tries to spoil the fun.
The African Queen: Marvelous amalgamation of souse Bogart who triumphed an Oscar and spinster Hepburn voyaging downriver in Africa throughout WWI, battling the factors and the Germans, and each other. Cast includes Katharine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Robert Morley, Peter Bull, Theodore Bikel, and Walter Gotell. (105 minutes, 1951)
The Devil’s Own: The year is 1993, and the IRA is engage in peace talks with the English. Back in New York, an Irish American cop has taken a young Irish man immigrating to the US into his home to be part of the family. He knows little of the man’s past, and nothing of the reasons for his coming to America. Once he learns that he has an IRA terrorist in his midst, he must hunt him down, to stop him from his appointed task.
Soylent Green: Well-intentioned however cardboard adaptation of Harry Harrison’s chemistry-fiction classic Make Room! Make Room! In the year 2022, Manhattan has gotten to be an overcrowded hell hole. Cop Heston, while examining the murder of a bigwig, trips onto explosive government secret which you’ll compute out long before he does. Cast includes Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, Leigh Taylor-Youthful, Get rid of Connors, Mike Henry, and Dick Minivan Patten. (100 minutes, 1973)
Company of Killers: Gunman (Saxon) performing for Kill Inc. becomes the target for his bosses and the city cops after a key witness is shot down. Bites off more than it can handle. Cast includes Van Johnson, Ray Milland, John Saxon, Brian Kelly, Fritz Weaver, Clu Gulager, Susan Oliver, Diana Lynn, and Robert Middleton. (88 minutes, 1970)
